Are the days of fitness magazines almost over? With the advance in technology over the last decades we've seen many things come and go; I-Pods in place of portable CD players or cell phones in place of car phones, and may others made more efficient; email in place of postal mail or digital in place of film or hybrid plus gas vs. just gas. Many of these improvements have save people time, money, energy, and allowed to do things they never though possible.

It makes you wonder, are the days of fitness magazines almost over too? Being limited to just around 30 pages of fitness information (subtract the ads and that's like what you'll get), waiting a month just to receive more information on exercise, having to look at pictures in a attempt to figure out how to do an exercise, and be bombarded with so many ads that your confused whether your reading a workout magazines or a catalog? Sounds primitive.

Let's take a look at some of the advantages fitness websites have over fitness magazines then what advantages do magazines have over websites:

Fitness Websites vs. Fitness Magazines: Round 1

-Fitness sites can be updated every day with new and more information, while you'll have to wait a month for your next issue of a magazine.

-Fitness sites can add to what they already have without loosing any information, fitness mags have to write a completely new issue every month, meaning you'll miss out on the info in the previous months.

-Fitness magazines have a very high cost to run so they have to cater to there advertisers to make money (the 5$ a month you spend on one doesn't even cover the cost).  While fitness site have a low cost and can therefore cater to the consumer.

-Since Fitness Sites cater to you they benefit when you follow there programs and make progress. Because of the results you made you'll continue to subscribe, and tell you friends to become members, and the site will continue to stay in business.

-Fitness magazines cater to the advertisers, because the $10,000 they spend a month pays more bills then the 5$ you spend. Because of this they benefit when the sells of there advertisers increase, which is why there articles and "information" is designed to get you to by certain products (generally supplements).

-Seeing someone doing exercises on video is a much more effective way to learn an exercise then by just looking at a picture.

-You can continue to receive more and more information without taking up any space. As you accumulate more and more magazines you end up with piles that take up too much space.

-When you throw away you fitness magazines, because there taking up too much space, you loose that information (mostly ads anyways). While a fitness site can accumulate more information so you can always go back to research things.

-With Fitness site you can have hundreds of pages full of workout plan, information, nutrition plans, and videos while fitness magazines get to bulky around 150 pages (120 of those are ads).

These are just a few of the advantages Fitness Sites have over Fitness magazines, I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.
